4th grade students had the opportunity to have a Zoom session with Shirley Murillo, a research meteorologist for NOAA’s hurricane division. She shared what it is like to be a hurricane hunter. The students were able to ask her questions as well. They learned so much!




During SEL, 4th grade worked on changing negative self-talk to positive self-talk in different situations they may face. Great job!




Mrs. Kuelper’s fifth graders were being life scientists today. The students spent time researching information about different organisms.

Our elementary had a fun day celebrating Halloween today with their Halloween stations and parties.

Ms. Crabtree’s students started off their Halloween festivities with the whole class dancing to The Monster Mash then onto Mummy Wrapping!

Fourth grade Artists are learning about symmetry and the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos while creating their Sugar Skulls. Using the windows as a light board, students were able to trace the other half of their design.

It is literally a bright day at BVE/BVJH! It is neon and sunglasses day for Red Ribbon Week. We have a door contest today along with some sweet treats for our elementary students. Looking Too Bright for Drugs! Go Storm!

Congratulations to our 7th grade girls basketball team as they beat Ottawa tonight 20-18. They will move on to play in the SRC championship game Wednesday night! Great job ladies! Go Storm!
The first day of red ribbon week went extremely well! Dress up was pajamas, paper chain in the elementary, and we started our coin drive.



7th grade went outside for class this morning and gathered leaves. Once the students got their 12 leaves we came back inside and sorted them into groups by their different characteristics.




Congratulations to Autumn Roth and Lainey Fruge who qualified for ILMEA. Autumn qualified in chorus and Lainey qualified in band. They will perform November 5th at Augustana with the best musicians in the state. Big congratulations ladies!! Way to represent! Go Storm!


Mrs. Bell’s class studied the difference between prose and drama. They read a drama piece and acted it out in class. They had a lot of fun this week!
