
BVJH Student Council results are in! Congrats to the 2023-2024 members of Student Council. Mrs. Hartz and the new members are eager to make the school and community an even better place!


In a tech filled world, it is still important for kids to have map reading skills. It helps develop spatial awareness and a sense of direction & also empowers kids to be more self-reliant, enabling them to find their way in unfamiliar places without relying solely on technology.

Last night we recognized our 8th graders during the final home game of the baseball season. We want to thank the players for the dedication, commitment, and hard work this season and wish them the best of the luck the rest of the season and year.

Junior high PE got to take a chance at getting past Mr. Helms in the goal and put their soccer skills to work in game play.



Due to injuries, pitch count, and traveling purposes, Stark County has canceled for tomorrow for JH baseball. There will be no DH baseball game tomorrow. Have a great long weekend!

Sue Winger was a special guest for 4th grade. She shared what it is like to be an election judge in Bureau County. The students asked great questions and learned a lot.

Fourth grade artists have started drawing from observation in the courtyard with Mrs. Knapp. They are working on looking closely at their subjects to draw what they see, and not what they know.

It's a great day to get outside and start our soccer unit in PE! Today Junior High students worked on their dribbling, passing, and trapping skills.

Heat wave... No problem with all our fun indoor recess games thanks to our BV Wyanet/Manlius PTO from last year!






Ms. Bitting's 3rd graders got to know each other by working with a partner to create a Venn diagram of their similarities and differences. To make the activity even more fun, Ms. Bitting made a Venn diagram of herself and Mr. DeVenney to use as an example.




The 7th grade social studies classes and our wonderful paraprofessionals are ready for the adventure to begin and let learning take them around the world. Oh, the places they'll go!




Last night we recognized our 8th graders for all of their hard work and dedication this season. We want to wish them nothing but the best as they continue their 8th grade year and into high school. Update for JH Baseball for the Week:
Baseball will not play Tuesday or Thursday this week due to heat. They will play on Friday @ Streator at 4:30 and then Saturday vs Henry in a double header at 10:00AM. The game next Thursday vs PCS has been changed to play Peru now and we will not make up the PCS game.If you have any questions please contact the junior high office.
