BVJH is kicking off the Christmas season with the bowling unit. Students learn to keep their own score, bowling approach, and bowling etiquette.



Mrs. Bell’s students explored weathering and erosion on mountains this week. The students shook sugar cubes in a container to see what would happen to the cubes as they continued to shake the containers.



7th grade students in Mrs. DeMay’s class learned how to do accurate microscope drawings.




Our Bureau Valley Junior High choir and band ended the night very well! Congratulations to all performers and directors on a great night!




Our Bureau Valley Elementary did extremely well at their winter program. Great job to all students, Mr. Lancaster, and Mrs. Krug on an excellent performance! Happy Holidays Everyone!

We would like to bring some holiday cheer by inviting everyone tonight to enjoy our Bureau Valley Elementary & Junior High for our annual Christmas programs. The elementary program will begin at 6:00 with our junior high program beginning at 7:15.
Ms. Ackerman’s 6th grade ELA class got welcome aboard to Educational Airlines today!
Students used their own passport to explore locations that are home to celebrations and traditions from all around the world! 🌎

6th grade will be traveling to Streator tonight to take on the Panthers with a tip off time of 4:30!

Mrs. DeMay’s science class is learning the fundamentals of the microscope!




The sixth grade social studies have completed their study of Ancient Egypt. They used thinking skills to play an Egyptian board game, used cartography skills to make a 3D Egypt map, and researched goddesses of Ancient Egypt and much more!




Mrs.DeMay’s Science class had fun today learning to identify minerals using each mineral’s properties and characteristics!




The 7th AND 8th grade robotics teams are BOTH state bound! Great job to all the kids. It was a long day, but so worth it…to see the looks on the kids’ faces hearing those announcements!



The 5th and 3rd graders collected data on how far their sail car would travel. They also experimented with calcium chloride and baking soda to learn the difference between an endothermic and exothermic reaction.




Good luck to Bureau Valley Storm Bots. They will be competing at The Rust Belt in East Moline today.
