Ms. Ackerman’s 6th graders utilized their “detective skills” to make inferences on their ‘Westing Game’ novel! Students blend their antecedent knowledge with textual evidence to form an inference on character motive!

2022 Bureau Valley PreK-12 HAT DAY!
In honor of the many heroes from 9/11/01, Bureau Valley is proud to recognize our local Fire Departments for everything they do to keep our schools and our communities safe and out of harm’s way. All Bureau Valley students and staff are invited to wear a hat this Friday for a donation. Donations will be collected in classrooms and given to our local Fire Departments.

Mrs. Bell’s 4th grade class is studying how the eye works. Today they found out how the distance of the retina from the eye can change the image in this activity.


Mrs. DeMay’s science classes did an escape room on the Scientific Method today in class





Sixth grade artists have been learning about Neurographic Art, line weight and quality, contrast, unity, and color families with Mrs. Knapp. They are finishing their line work before they select their color family and add watercolor paint. Great work sixth grade!





Congratulations to our BVJH baseball team today as they won both games! It was a great season for our 7th graders and good luck to our 8th graders next week in the tournament!

Tonight’s baseball and softball games have been canceled due to field conditions. Softball will have practice until 4:30 tonight with the charter taking them home at 4:35. Mrs. Hoyt’s Science classes participated in an Escape Room Challenge involving lab safety. In the limited amount of time the students had, only two students were able to open the large briefcase lock box.
