Ms. Bitting’s 3rd grade students were surprised today to find a new incubator and quail eggs in their classroom when they arrived at school today! They will care for them as they learn all about the Bobwhite Quail embryo development stages for the next 3 weeks and hopefully hatch their chicks in May!

9/9/20 Dear Bureau Valley Junior High Parents and Students, In March 2020 the Bureau Valley School Board approved the addition of a BVJH JFL Program for the 2020/21 school year. We have been looking forward to a successful 2020 first season and a lot of hard work went into planning and preparing for our first year. However, according to the IDPH Sports Safety Guidance, football is placed into the highest risk category and teams are not allowed to participate in any contact practices, scrimmages or competitive play at this time. For the safety of our students, and in alignment with IESA, IHSA and the IDPH guidance, we regret to inform you that we are cancelling the BVJH JFL 2020 season. We will now turn our vision and attention to our 2021/22 season and look forward to building a successful program that will grow each year and enhance the high school football program for years to come.

Bureau Valley Jr. High and High School Fall Athletics On behalf of the Junior High and High School Fall athletic programs, we would like to send out a sincere thank you to all of our spectators for your patience and consideration during this unprecedented time. As we continue to move forward with the 2020 Fall sports seasons we understand that the Covid-19 situation has created some challenges for everyone. Let's continue to support our student-athletes in a positive manner and respect everyone's individual opinions regarding Covid-19. Spectators, please continue to enjoy the outdoor Fall events and remember to monitor your social distancing at all times. Masks are no longer required by spectators if outdoors and a 6-foot distance can be maintained. However, masks are still required for coaches at all times and for athletes when they are not actively playing in the game. Always give the student-athletes and coaches space and as a spectator closely monitor your family’s social distancing. Please refrain from the large group gatherings at the conclusion of events. We thank all of you for your support and dedication to Bureau Valley Junior High and High School athletics. Let’s continue to be the leaders for our student-athletes on how we conduct ourselves and practice social distancing at all events. Please continue to support our Fall athletes for the remainder of the season as we move forward through this challenging time. Stay healthy and safe! Thank you! GO STORM!
