Bureau Valley High School Basketball Spectator Guidance *All spectators will be required to wear masks (over mouth and nose), subject to health screenings, and maintain social distancing. *Each basketball player will be provided two season-long spectator passes at no cost. These color-coded tickets will grant admittance for that player’s game only; the gym will be cleared of all spectators between games. Lost passes will not be replaced. *No general admission tickets will be sold. Fans without spectator passes, including fans from visiting teams, will not be admitted into the building, but they will be able to view the live streamed games with a paid subscription to NFHS. *To enter, spectators should look to the colored lights at the front of the school. When red, spectators are required to stay in their vehicles; when green, spectators will have 15 minutes to enter through the front entrance of the high school. Doors will be locked at all times. *Spectators must sit with their household members in the designated area of the bleachers. The top rows are marked with specific seating locations that are clearly marked. Please sit directly on the taped spots to ensure social distancing. *No concessions will be offered, nor will outside food or drink be permitted. *Disinfecting of seats will take place between the Sophomore and Varsity contests. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Due to extremely limited seating capacities, the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) voted that no spectators from visiting teams will be allowed to attend games this season. BV parents, family members, friends, and other fans will only be able to view away games that are live streamed online. Links for these games will be communicated through district email and social media. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The above criteria has been developed based on the guidance established by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Those who do not comply with these and other protocols will be asked to leave and/or removed from the facility.

Bureau Valley CUSD #340 has set the week of February 16 - February 19, 2021 for Kindergarten Registration at Bureau Valley Elementary buildings in Walnut and Wyanet. Parents may register their child at the attendance center their child will attend. You may register between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on those dates. Children who will be five years old on or before September 1st will be eligible to attend kindergarten in the fall. The registration process is very simple and only takes a few minutes for parents to complete. Children are not required to attend the registration process. Incoming kindergarten students will be able to meet their teachers and see their classroom at a Meet ‘n Greet in August. Parents will be required to present proof of age (certified copy of birth certificate) at the time of registration. A certified copy of birth certificate may be acquired at the courthouse in the county in which the child was born. A packet will be issued to parents containing some registration paperwork, a health form, dental form, lead screening verification, vision exam form and some informational sheets. All registration paperwork will need to be completed and turned in the week of February 16-19. All health, dental, and vision forms are due at registration in August. No fees will be collected until registration in August. Kindergarten registration allows the schools to have an idea of the number of kindergartners to expect next school year so that a sufficient amount of supplies and books can be ordered for our students. Parents who are unable to register their child during the scheduled times are asked to call the office to inform the school of their intent to send a child to kindergarten. Parents will need to attend the K-12 registration in August. Dear BV Families and Staff, As we start our fourth week of school, we have had to make changes to our 2020-2021 District Calendar. Please note some changes happening soon below and click on the link for the entire year’s calendar: Updated 20-21 BV Calendar. There will be a School Improvement Day on Thursday, September 24th. Students will be served breakfast and will be dismissed at 11:00am. No lunch will be served. This day was on the original 20-21 Calendar and was removed, as the administration was planning for Covid related situations. The administration has now decided to add the School Improvement Day back to the calendar. Also, there will be a Remote Planning Day on Wednesday, October 14th. No meals will be served. Students in grades PK-11 will not attend school that day and no remote learning will be assigned. All seniors will be required to attend in-person at BVHS to take the state-mandated SAT assessment; any juniors who have signed up to take the PSAT-NMSQT test will also need to attend in-person. Seniors and Juniors, please watch for an email with more information about testing. Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 14th and 15th. We will send more information out at a later date as to how these conferences will be held to follow current guidance from the State. Please contact your student’s building with questions. Dear Parents, We have recently received guidance from the Illinois State Board of Education Nutrition Department informing us that all enrolled students will be eligible for free meals until December 31, 2020. The free meals begin September 1, 2020. (If your child was previously charged, those charges will be reversed for meals served on September 1st and 2nd.) Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, who are attending in person, will be asked for daily meal counts at their building. Families that have chosen Remote Learning will continue to receive emails that contain a food order form. The High School Thunder and Lightning families will also continue to receive emails that contain their food order form. We appreciate your flexibility as we work through these continuing changes.
