Youth Service Bureau of Illinois Valley (YSB) is a child welfare agency. The agency’s foster care program helps provide services to over 600 children in care. They cover over 20 different counties. Children in care range from newborn to 18 years old. They come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds. Some children may be mentally or physically disabled, have a variety of medical issues, or suffer from years of trauma. There are some children in care who lack a supporting and loving home. Which is why their agency is in desperate need of new foster homes and are reaching out to our community for support. Opening up your home to a child in care is both rewarding and educational. Thankful Thursday - It's been a week since Thanksgiving, a day dedicated to expressing gratitude. Today, on the final day of November, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing Staff, Students, Board, and entire District at Bureau Valley CUSD 340. I am thrilled to announce that, according to the 2023 Illinois Report Card, ALL schools in our district achieved an overall rating of COMMENDABLE, except our BVJH/Elementary School, which earned the highest honor of EXEMPLARY! Congratulations to everyone for creating such outstanding learning environments in our schools!

On Monday, September 11th BV students and staff may wear a school appropriate hat to school for a donation. All proceeds will go to our local Fire Departments in remembrance of 9/11.
