Bureau Valley will have their annual Backpack Night on Tuesday, August 15th. See flyer for locations and times. We can't wait to see everyone!

BVHS Principal Duane Price was recognized at last night's board meeting. A former student of Mr. Price's, Josh Stinson, recently gave a commencement speech at WIU about the impact Mr. Price had on him. Josh chose to major in English education
as a result of Mr. Price's influence.

At last night's board meeting Ella Thacker and Toby Behrends, BVHS FFA Officers, presented the 22-23 Annual Ag Department Report. Thacker and Behrends highlighted events that took place throughout the 22-23 school year. Their chapter received a National Chapter Award at the FFA National Convention in October of 2022. And, in June, BVHS had 5 students receive State Degrees at the FFA State Convention. Thank you, Ella and Toby! We look forward to another great year in the Ag Department.

Every Friday, Bureau Valley is introducing some new faces, and a few familiar faces in new roles, that you will be seeing on campus this school year. Please join us in welcoming these staff members as we wish them the best here at BV! #GoStorm

Dear Storm Students, Staff, and Families,
With a heavy heart, I share news of a tragic incident that has deeply impacted our schools and community. Last night, Bureau Valley 8th-grader, Ethyn Crawford, passed away in a tragic accident.
In these challenging times, our district's priority is to assist our students in navigating through the process of grief and healing. As part of this, we have arranged for our crisis counseling team to be present at our school today, July 13th, from noon - 4:00 PM; students can meet a counselor in person or fill out the form below to schedule a follow-up with a counselor.
This tragic loss will touch everyone in our school family and the Bureau Valley Community. We understand that students may struggle to cope with this loss. We strongly urge parents to engage in open discussions with their children about their feelings and for students to ask for help when required.
As we all grieve, I am confident that you join me in offering our profound condolences to the family. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of the counselors or us by dialing 815-445-3101 or filling out the form linked here.
With deepest sympathy,
Jason R. Stabler
Superintendent
