We are in for a battle! Our baseball team will be traveling to LaSalle tonight to take on #1 Peru Parkside for a chance to get into the SRC championship game. The game will start at 4:30, and we want to wish the team and coaches the best of luck!

SRC Tournament action is happening tonight for both our softball and baseball teams. Our baseball team hosts opening round vs LaSalle at 6:30 in Wyanet, as our softball team travels to Peru to take on Princeton at 6:30. Good luck to both teams as they begin their battle in the SRC tournament this week.

Last night we recognized our 8th grade softball players while playing Ottawa. We want to wish the ladies the best of luck the rest of their season as well as their final year in junior high. Good luck to them and the rest of the team in the SRC tournament next week.

Picture Day Announcement!
Picture Day will be tomorrow for our 3rd-8th grade students. An email was sent home to all parents describing the process, since we are using a new picture company. Please have your child dress accordingly, and you have any questions please contact the jr. high office.
JH Athletic Update:
With the heat index, we have moved our softball and baseball games on Monday and Tuesday. The updated schedule is below, the softball and baseball teams will practice in the Storm Gym from 3:00-5:00. Please contact the jr. high office with any questions.

Our JH FFA officially has a JH FFA Chapter that is charted! Last night, the high school FFA officers celebrated with the junior high as they signed their official FFA charter. We are so excited to see all the exciting things that Mrs. Shimmin and Ms. Jacobs will do with our junior high students this year. Congratulations to all advisors and students!
Ms. Bitting's 3rd graders are starting off the school year by learning about the life cycle of Monarch butterflies.
Our softball and baseball teams are back in action tonight and both are at home. Softball faces Streator and baseball plays JFK with both games starting at 4:30.

Fifth graders at Manlius Elementary made all about me kites. Students were asked 12 questions and colored the kite a certain color based on their answer. We compared our kites to see if any students were similar, and we found some matches.
Bureau Valley Junior High School ~ Summer 2024 Trip to Washington DC and Gettysburg
Kylie Endress and Lydia Edlefson have entered their artwork from last spring's NCI ARTworks Show into the Illinois State Town & Country Amateur Art Show. The show is at the Springer Cultural Center in Champaign Illinois, and runs from August 24-September 21. Great work!

Tonight's softball game @ Princeton has been canceled due to field conditions. The team will still have practice tonight in the Storm Gym, and there will be an activity shuttle after practice to take athletes home if needed. We are working on a reschedule date due to it being a conference game. The jr. high baseball game is still on in Wyanet at 4:30. Please contact the jr. high office with any questions.
