The BVEC Art Show is Saturday, March 9th in the Bureau Valley Storm Gym at the Manlius Campus. The show is free and open from 12:00-1:00 for the public to celebrate artwork created by students from 8 area junior high schools.

We are excited to share that we are a round two recipient of @American Library Association's Libraries Transforming Communities: Accessible Small and Rural Communities initiative. Walnut Public Library Director, Jaclyn Trujillo, applied for the $10,000 grant as a collaborative initiative to become a stronger community resource for all families served throughout the Bureau Valley School District. Bureau Valley School Librarian, Mary Heing, is excited for the new flexible seating opportunities amongst other new resources and tools that will be readily available for the young adults while visiting the library. Walnut Public Library will utilize round two funds and will continue to expand the resources available to the public utilizing remaining funds from being a round one recipient.

Good luck to our 8th grade volleyball team in opening round of IESA volleyball tonight. They will travel to Thurgood Marshall in Rockford to play Mendota at 6:00. Good Luck Ladies!!

Whiskers enjoyed going with the 5th graders to STEM this morning.

4th and 5th grade students at BVE in Manlius enjoyed their February STEM challenge. Students practiced their measuring skills by using construction paper to create a football field. They used their engineering skills to construct their goal post out of pipe cleaners and straws. Finally they created a triangular football out of paper. Students were then able to combine all three of their creations to see how many field goals they could score.

7th Grade Life Science students have been working hard on their human body systems project. Today, they taught their classmates about the levels of organization in their chosen system. Here are the students of 7C. They all did a fabulous job!!!

area.

5th graders at BVE Manlius wrote facts about hamsters in their journals as one of their activities for One School One Book. Whiskers even joined in on the fun! 🐹

Ms. Bitting's third graders would like to thank Mrs. Shimmin and Miss Jacobs and their FFA students for coming to read to them today and for the books that each student received.

Perfect timing! Ms. Crabtree's class earned their extra recess and got to take advantage of the warmer temperatures.

Ms. Haley's 8th grade Character and Career class learned about career clusters today. Students worked in groups to brainstorm which careers belonged in different career clusters.
