3rd grade had a debate on what was better during SEL: lunch or recess, Superman or Spider-Man, and cake or ice cream. They showed cooperation by listening to all group members and then told why their choice was the best while disagreeing respectfully. Nice job!


4th graders worked with LEGOs to cooperate and show teamwork to build similar objects during SEL!




The BVJH Scholastic Bowl has continued their great start of their season with A team beating LaSalle 265 to 50 and 155 to 55. The B team beating LaSalle 150 to 95 and 140 to 10. Great job!!



The 4th graders at BV worked as a team today to complete several challenges.




Congratulations to the BVJH Scholastic Bowl team for taking the sweep in the 6th & 7th grade tournament today! BV beat Dixon 210 to 170, LaSalle 190 to 100, and St. Mary’s 260 to 165. Great job!!



The Speech Team came home with all ratings of 1, the highest level!

Mrs. Price's 6/7 ELA classes practiced their parts of speech today by playing "Grammargories," which is similar to Scattegories. They had a blast!




A group of 3rd-5th grade students completed an energy audit of the Manlius building. They learned a lot about how to conserve energy. A huge thank you to Caryn Turrell from the ESP program.

The 8th grade Physical science students in Mrs. Hoyt's class are using what they learned about simple machines to design and build their rendition of a Rube Goldberg machine.



Students in Ms. Crabtree's 5th grade class are studying the Earth's layers. They compared the layers of Earth to the layers in a Snickers candy bar.



📚 FFA Week Books for Third Grade 📚
BV FFA gifts a copy of Farmer George Plants a Nation to every third grader in the district in celebration of National FFA Week. Each book is written in by a student in Miss Johnston's Introduction to tell the third graders a little more about Ag! Then students in Miss Jacobs' Ag Business class take the books and read with the third graders!



Congratulations to our 7th grade volleyball team as they beat Ottawa last night to move on to the championship game vs Princeton on Thursday night! Good luck to our 8th grade team as they play Princeton tonight at 4:30 to get into the championship game. Great work this season ladies! Go Storm!
Congratulations to our 7th & 8th grade teams in winning their opening rounds in the SRC tournament. The 7th grade won in 2 vs Mendota and the 8th grade won in 2 vs LaSalle. The 7th grade will play Tuesday night at 5:45 and the 8th grade will play Wednesday night at 4:30 vs Princeton. Good luck ladies next week!!

Mrs. Price's 6th grade ELA classes have been reading "The Speckled Band" by Arthur Conan Doyle. Students put their investigative skills to use, learned from Sherlock Holmes, during an intense game of Clue.
