In addition to school, all extracurricular activities for Bureau Valley High School students have been canceled for Thursday, February 16, 2023. A final decision on the girls regional game between Princeton and Monmouth-Roseville at BVHS will be announced later today.

Physical Science students are wrapping up the mousetrap car project. Cars were initially engineered to cover the maximum possible distance, then reconfigured to travel at the maximum possible speed.


The properties of the elements change in a regular fashion across and down the periodic table. Chemistry students are modeling the trends by arranging straws, each with a length proportional to the magnitude of the property, in a grid representing the periodic table.

The Wyanet VFW Post #6634 and its Ladies Auxiliary have announced the winners of the BVHS Voice of Democracy essay competition. Congratulations to seniors, Izabel Wallace (2nd), Nikki Kerber (1st), and Liana Ledergerber (3rd). This year's theme was "Why Is the Veteran Important?"

General PE is trying out the sport of lacrosse this week. This is a first for many students!


A little friendly competition in Personal Fitness- squat hold challenge!

World History students presented on war this week! Groups compiled their own research on both modern and ancient wars. Then, they taught their classmates about the war through a variety of mediums. We saw everything from original photographs, to sculpted artifacts, to cake!
