The Wyanet VFW Post #6634 and its Ladies Auxiliary have announced the winners of the BVHS Voice of Democracy essay competition. Congratulations to seniors, Izabel Wallace (2nd), Nikki Kerber (1st), and Liana Ledergerber (3rd). This year's theme was "Why Is the Veteran Important?"

General PE is trying out the sport of lacrosse this week. This is a first for many students!


A little friendly competition in Personal Fitness- squat hold challenge!

World History students presented on war this week! Groups compiled their own research on both modern and ancient wars. Then, they taught their classmates about the war through a variety of mediums. We saw everything from original photographs, to sculpted artifacts, to cake!




The BVHS National Honor Society is partnering with ImpactLife to hold a Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 15 in the high school gym from 8:30 to 1:30 p.m. Appointments are required. There are still some appointment times available. See attached picture for more information.

Chemistry students test the chemical and physical properties of various elements and then use the properties to classify each as a metal, non-metal, or metalloid.

The Martin Motion Robotics Team consists of four Bureau Valley High School students as well as several students from neighboring districts. They are busy building and preparing their robots/teams for the upcoming regional competition in March!

Fourteen Bureau Valley FFA Members attended the Illinois FFA Ground Zero Conference! This group learned more about leadership and how best to serve our FFA chapter, community, and world!

Storm Trackers from the fall semester received their checks during a luncheon sponsored and catered by Marquis Energy. Mentors helped their mentees work toward two personal goals during weekly meetings throughout first semester.




Due to the 2-hour late start on Friday, February 3, we will have to reschedule the NHS meeting that was supposed to be held at 7:15 a.m. in the Auditorium. Check Google Classroom for updates on when the meeting will be rescheduled.
