The Anatomy students began dissections! After studying each body system, they enhance their understanding through dissection using fetal pigs. They have just finished the integumentary system and are looking at the characteristics of skin!

Physical Science students prove the impulse-momentum theorem. The product of the force on the car and the time it acts must equal the mass of the car multiplied by its velocity, as measured by the photogate.

It’s a heavy week in Strength & Conditioning, and active spotters are essential! These athletes are working hard to prepare their bodies for competition.

We have a great group of senior National Honor Society students representing BVHS! Thank you to everyone who supported their sub sandwich fundraiser.

Physics students use a "ticker tape" timer to collect position data for a falling object. From the position data, velocity can be calculated. Finally, analysis of the velocity-time graph allows determination of the acceleration due to gravity.

How many atoms did it take to make that drawing? Chemistry students use the molar mass of carbon and Avogadro's Number to calculate the number of Carbon atoms used to make a charcoal drawing.

Statistic Olympics are in full swing! Lots of tough competition in our five events. Who will take home the gold?

BVHS Girls Basketball Update from Monday night:

Physics student replicate the famous experiment of Galileo, using progressively steeper inclines to produce greater and greater accelerations. Extrapolation from the data allows the acceleration due to gravity for an object dropped directly downwards to be determined.

Newton's 3rd Law in action. When the weights are equal, the equal forces produce equal accelerations. With students of different weights, one moves fast and one moves slowly.

BVHS Athletic Activity Schedule Update: The BVHS volleyball banquet will be Wednesday, Nov. 9th in the MPR @ 6:00.
