BVHS is proud to recognize Saralyn Elmore and Jackson Lind as recipients of the John Ourth Award, as recognized by the Starved Rock Illinois Principals Association. Congratulations to both seniors on their award and representation of Bureau Valley.
The Bureau Valley boys basketball sophomore and varsity teams both drop games to a talented Princeton group this evening. Excited to see both Storm teams back in action Friday at PHS. Bet we see some high levels of passion and pride on display in the rematch on Friday!

Bureau Valley Girls F/S and Varsity basketball teams both dropped their home opener tonight vs. Princeton. Nice thing about it we will play it again on Thursday night in Princeton! Proud of our girls, they played hard and are sure to make huge improvements going into Thursday!
Due to this week's altered schedule, all WACC students will attend WACC on Wednesday, February, 10th. Please arrive by 11:30 for your health screening before boarding the bus. Students will attend on Thurs. (Feb. 11) too, but have Fri. (Feb. 12) off since WACC & BVHS are closed.

Mon., Feb. 8th will be an in-person day of learning for Thunder students. Lightning students will learn remotely. All classes will follow the schedule for periods 1-4.

Girls play at home Monday vs. Princeton and the Boys will be home Tuesday vs. Princeton.
Snow day on Fri., Feb. 5th. No student attendance, remote learning, Co-op, or WACC. Extracurricular activities will also be canceled. At this point, Mon., Feb. 8th will remain in-person for Thunder students and will follow the schedule for periods 1-4.

Basketball Spectator Guidance
*All spectators will be required to wear masks (over mouth and nose), subject to health screenings, and maintain social distancing.
*Each basketball player will be provided two season-long spectator passes at no cost. These color-coded tickets will grant admittance for that player’s game only; the gym will be cleared of all spectators between games. Lost passes will not be replaced.
*No general admission tickets will be sold. Fans without spectator passes, including fans from visiting teams, will not be admitted into the building, but they will be able to view the live streamed games with a paid subscription to NFHS.
*To enter, spectators should look to the colored lights at the front of the school. When red, spectators are required to stay in their vehicles; when green, spectators will have 15 minutes to enter through the front entrance of the high school. Doors will be locked at all times.
*Spectators must sit with their household members in the designated area of the bleachers. The top rows are marked with specific seating locations that are clearly marked. Please sit directly on the taped spots to ensure social distancing.
*No concessions will be offered, nor will outside food or drink be permitted.
*Disinfecting of seats will take place between the Sophomore and Varsity contests.

Due to extremely limited seating capacities, the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) voted that no spectators from visiting teams will be allowed to attend games this season. BV parents, family members, friends, and other fans will only be able to view away games that are live streamed online. Links for these games will be communicated through district email and social media.

The above criteria has been developed based on the guidance established by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Those who do not comply with these and other protocols will be asked to leave and/or removed from the facility.
Congrats to the BVHS scholastic bowl team on your fine performance tonight. You played with poise and passion against some outstanding competition. Thank you to our coaches and staff members who made this in-person event happen! It was nice to see area teams really compete!
The bell schedule for Monday, February 1st will be changed. For this day, students will have periods 1-4, not periods 1-8. This adjustment is only for this date only. Monday, February 1st will still be an in-person day for Lightning students and a remote day for Thunder students.
