CONGRATULATIONS to the High School Concert Band, High School Choir and High School Jazz Band for receiving Division I ratings at the IHSA Organizational Band and Choir Contest at Kewanee High School last night.
This is the first time in the history of the school that the jazz band has competed. This group voluntarily meets two days a week before school to rehearse. #gostorm #bvmusic

NHS Seniors visited Fun Station in Eldridge, IA for their senior field trip. The day started with Starbucks and a Target run and ended with obstacle courses, rock climbing, bumper cars, bowling, avoiding lasers, a high ropes course, and lots and lots of jumping. Hats off to this group for all their hard work and service over the last year.
Recently Miss Jacobs Ag Construction classes have been putting their math skills to the test! They got to practice marking out areas the same way you would when preparing to pour a concrete slab. By using the 3-4-5 Triangle Method (also know as the Pythagorean Theorem) they can ensure they have perfectly square 90 degree corners for their layouts!

National Honor Society officers and advisers presented a $295.00 check to Kathy Barker with funds obtained through a LifeSavings School Grant Program from ImpactLife. In February, the BVHS National Honor Society hosted a blood drive that collected 40 units of blood. ImpactLife gives back to schools that host blood drives who can make charitable donations to non-profit organizations in their communities. This year's LifeSavings Grant was donated to Barker Farm in Princeton that aims at growing fresh produce so people of all economic backgrounds of Bureau County and surrounding counties can have the opportunity for a healthy lifestyle.

The banquet will be held in the Bureau Valley High School Gym(Storm Cellar) along with a meal, dessert, and refreshments. Following the banquet will be the labor auction where individuals and businesses can purchase 8 hours of hard work from members and advisors!
