BVHS State Track & Field Update: Elijah House will advanced to Saturdays class 1A state finals in the 800 meter run. The Bureau Valley 4x800 relay and 4x400 relay failed to advance. Elijah House also failed to advance in the 400 meter dash. Congrats to Storm athletes & coaches!

BUREAU VALLEY SPORTS PHYSICAL CLINIC: A sports physical clinic will be held tomorrow at BVHS/BVJH Thursday, May 25th from 9-12. No appointments are needed. This is a first come first serve clinic. Grades 7, 8, 10, 11 & 12 PLEASE use the Storm Gym entrance! $10.00 fee

Driver’s Ed. wrapped up the spring semester with a parallel parking demonstration and a “mock” traffic stop with the help of our school resource officer Deputy Winner. Students learned the challenges of being able to parallel park successfully and acquired knowledge of what to expect if ever pulled over by law enforcement.

🥒 What do pickles, beef jerky, pickled jalapeños, butter, and pasta all have in common? They are all preserved in different ways! Students in Miss Johnston's Food Science class are learning about different food preservation techniques like salting, drying, and more! 🥒

BVHS Girls Track Update: Congrats to Jillian Hulsing for clearing 5'1 today to advance to Saturday's IHSA Class 1A State Track & Field Finals! Jillian will compete on Saturday at 10:00am in Charleston. We are very proud of Jillian and Coach Backer! Great Work! Go Storm!

Life Skills and Advanced Foods students teamed up to make homemade pizzas this week.

Miss Jacobs first hour class has been putting the many skills they learned this year to the test by making outdoor benches to finish out the year in the shop!

Natural Resources has been learning how to properly use a compass! They have been orienting themselves, shooting bearings, and making courses for each other to follow in order to test their skills. They have even practiced their map reading skills with topographical maps of the surrounding towns!

Art 4 seniors left their mark! Every year students paint a favorite famous work of art on a ceiling tile in the high school art room.
