Handing out our first round of Self-Care Kits to students today. Funded by the School-Based Mental Health Grant, these kits supplied students with items to support their SEL needs.

Physical Science students are studying the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration. By varying the amount of mass added to the cart or hanging over the pulley, the principles underlying Newton's 2nd Law of Motion can be discovered.

Physical Science students are studying compounds and atoms. Here they have done an experiment that uses an electrical current to break down water into hydrogen and oxygen. They have also been creating models of different atoms. These models show the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons in certain elements.

BV Boys Golf finsihed with a 350 team total which tied them for 8th place at the Sherrard Sectional.
SPECIAL congrats to Wyatt Novotny who advances to state by finishing 6th overall shooting a 79!

Mrs. Shimmin's Food Science class has been learning about the USDA MyPlate and healthy eating! To reinforce these concepts they were able to make and enjoy smoothies!



Scientists in Mrs. Roth's Earth Science class investigate how to separate a mixture of sand and salt.


Students in Introduction to Agriculture took a deeper dive into SOIL this week! Students learned how to make a soil ribbon, studied the permeability of different soils, and even got to look at a soil profile to observe the different horizons! A special thanks go to Chuck and Cale Buysse for graciously digging our pit and providing our students with new learning opportunities!

Mrs. Shimmin's Pre-Veterinary Studies class is learning about biosecurity!! Students simulated disinfectant procedures on dirty work boots, a door handle, and a saliva sample! They swabbed at each phase of disinfecting: before, during, and after, and then added the swabs to Petri dishes to track bacteria growth!

Curious what an SAE is?! SAEs provide a method in agricultural education for students to receive real-world career experiences in an area of agriculture that they are most interested in. Supervised Agricultural Experiences are an important component of agricultural education and are a required element of all Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources!
