Mrs. Wagner's STEAM students celebrated poetry month with a Poetry Campout. They listened to poems around the "campfire," then wrote and illustrated class poems to share in the library. Everyone knows you can't have a campout without s'mores, so they also had a special snack!










Mrs. Wagner is excited to announce her first group of Typing Superstars! These second graders have completed the Dance Mat Typing program and earned a certificate! Congratulations!


1st Grade "Red Carpet Writers" will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 2nd. (Doors will open at 1:45 pm)
A huge thanks goes out to our wonderful secretary! We appreciate all that you do!

Skating reminder: Miss Burkman, Mrs. Klingenberg, and Miss Mallery's classes will skate o on Tuesday. Miss Daley, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Flowers' classes will skate on Wednesday.
No School on Friday, April 18th and Monday, April 21st. Have a Happy Easter and a nice long weekend!
On Thursday, April 17th, we will be dismissing school at 11:00am. No lunch will be served. Both Am/PM Pre-k will attend from 8:00am-10:30am.
The first week of skating was a blast!








Mrs. Flowers class enjoyed Week of the Young Child. We had a blast playing kickball against the other first grade class, making our own ice cream sundaes, and working together to build things, along with some other fun activities that were planned throughout the week!

In STEAM, Mrs Wagner's students experimented with scales after hearing a fun a story about a group of animals trying to balance with their elephant friend on a seesaw.

BV CUSD #340 will begin taking appointments for Pre-K screening. Please call me at 815/699-2251. Your child must be 2 1/2 by May 14, 2025 to be screened.
Mrs. Flowers Class has been using their new sensory table during centers. In reading the students had to find a word, read it, and match it with the picture it belongs to. Thank you Bv Foundation for the sensory table to ensure hands on learning in Mrs. Flowers classroom!





In STEAM, students used their creativity and engineering skills to build leprechaun traps after hearing the story How to Catch a Leprechaun.
