Students in Ms. Crabtree's class put their knowledge of finding volume to the test and worked to find which expression matched up with the correct prism.

Ms. Crabtree's students earned their August incentive and celebrated by eating ice cream sandwiches on the last hot day of August!

Miss Yepsen's 4th graders started their science unit on the structures and functions of the human body. They built a model of a finger to see how muscles control their bones to move their bodies!

Yesterday we celebrated our 13 softball 8th graders at 8th grade day. 11 athletes and 2 managers were recognized for their hard work, commitment, and dedication this season. Go Storm!! ⚡️🥎

Softball played a double header against Galva today. They lost the first game, then turned it around and won the second! The 8th graders were celebrated during their 8th Grade Day (separate post to come). The team will play Tuesday in the SRC tournament at home @ 4:30.

Thank you to whoever purchased the puzzles for the BVJH & Elementary Art room from Mrs. Knapp's wish list! The students are enjoying working on their spatial reasoning, proportion, visual working memory, and color, value, and pattern recognition skills!

Fourth grade will be improving their observational drawing skills in the courtyard with Mrs. Knapp over the next couple of weeks. Thank you Brainstorm for planting the beautiful flowers!

Jr. High Counselor Ms. Haley and School Resource Officer Winner spoke with our jr. high students today about the importance of staying safe online. Students learned valuable tips for making responsible choices, protecting their personal information, and navigating the internet safely.

Ms. Bitting's 3rd grade class is participating in the Adopt-A-Calf program sponsored by the St. Louis Dairy council. They are excited to announce that they have chosen a calf and named her Brownie. They look forward to watching her grow and learning all about the dairy farming.

JH Softball played in a round robin tournament Saturday at home. BV won against JFK and had a tough loss against Kewanee Central. JH Baseball played a double header on Saturday against Serena. They unfortunately lost both, but played well.

Who says kids don’t know how to use a map anymore? 🗺️😉 Mrs. Schoff’s 8th graders do! Today we put those map skills to work!

How many 7's would you write if writing out all the numbers from 1-100? What about 1-1,000? How many 0's? Students in Mrs. Hartz's math classes worked together to answer these questions and showed such great thinking skills, organization, and communication! Storm Family, We have a positive update to share. We've been notified that construction on Route 40 at the Hennepin Canal Bridge is now expected to be completed by August 13th. That means we will not need to adjust our bus shuttle times after all, and our regular schedule stays in place.One thing to keep on your radar: the Interstate 80 bridge may remain one-way for the foreseeable future. Please plan for some added delay at the lights in that area, especially during the morning and afternoon runs, and give yourselves a little extra time.One more reminder: the Manlius shuttle will resume back at the old elementary site.If you have any questions, please call our Transportation Department at 815-445-2161.Thank you for your patience and flexibility over the past few days. We've been notified that construction on Route 40 at the Hennepin Canal Bridge has been extended. Because of this, we've adjusted our bus shuttle times for Sheffield and Buda, and those changes will remain in place until further notice.

Please review your child's new pickup and drop-off times below so your family is ready for the morning and afternoon runs.
