Once again we have been blessed with a donation from our local community. MTM Trailers of Kewanee along with Macon Construction of Bradford have donated new autodarkening welding helmets and gloves to our welding program. This is exciting and we cannot thank you enough.

Last week, English III Honors students completed their Beowulf unit. After working hard on their tests, students celebrated with a Beowulf Banquet! Students enjoyed apple cider and played games, and sat and socialized in the manner of the Anglo-Saxons. Students also participated in creating their own heroic tale, where each student wrote 2-3 sentences, building a story line by line. This story was read aloud at the end of the banquet, just as a Scop would have delivered a story at an Anglo-Saxon banquet.

🪱Intro to Ag - Edible Earth 🪱 Do you ever consider what exists in the soil beneath our feet? To celebrate a successful completion of our Soils Unit, students in Intro to Ag put their knowledge of horizons to the test! Students had the chance to make a classic dirt dessert with a twist! Students had a layer to represent each soil horizon. A whole Oreo represented bedrock, the pudding was the parent material, graham cracker crumbles and butterscotch chips were the subsoil, Oreo crumbles represented the topsoil, and the organic layer was displayed with green sprinkles and gummy worms! Who knew soil could be so tasty?!
