Yesterday was more than just a day out of our school routine - it was a chance to honor, learn, and connect.
Students proudly wore hats to support our local fire department in remembrance of 9/11, a reminder of courage, sacrifice, and community strength.
• Judge Hansen encouraged us to stay responsible, safe, and respectful in the digital world.👨⚖️
• Freedom House shared the importance of healthy relationships and Erin's Law.🤍
• Students practiced bus safety.🚍
And to balance the serious with calm and joy, students explored mini-courses that sparked creativity: sidewalk chalk art, diamond art magnets, fuse bead creations, Wii game competitions, board & card games, and dot-to-dot coloring.
The heart of the day was clear: respect ourselves, care for each other, and grow together. These lessons extend far beyond the classroom, shaping the kind of community we all want to be.⚡️

2000 Bureau Valley alum and current McHenry County Circuit Judge Justin Hansen shared advice with BVHS students about making smart choices with cell phones, staying safe on the internet and social media, and standing up to cyberbullying. A powerful talk coming from one of Bureau Valley's own!
Life Skills have been learning about different laws and the important job a police officer has. Each student created a question they wanted to ask a police officer. Thanks to Officer Winner, he came in and answered everyone's questions.

It was a competitive night in the Storm Cellar as all three levels of Bureau Valley Volleyball took the court against Rock Falls!
🔹 Varsity battled hard, pushing it to 3 sets but came up short
🔹 JV brought the energy and secured the sweep!

We are developing modern Mad Libs as part of the Introduction to Computer Technology course using Python programming. Students are working on a project that involves creating a series of prompts for user input, such as "Enter a noun," "Input a name," and "Pick a number." Once all responses are collected, a paragraph is generated that incorporates all the user-provided information.
