To celebrate a successful completion of our Soils Unit, students in Intro to Ag put their knowledge of horizons to the test! Students had the chance to make a classic dirt dessert with a twist! Students had a layer to represent each soil horizon. A whole Oreo represented bedrock, the pudding was the parent material, graham cracker crumbles and butterscotch chips were the subsoil, Oreo crumbles represented the topsoil, and the organic layer was displayed with green sprinkles and gummy worms!
