German classes celebrated Oktoberfest today by sampling some authentic snacks, pickles, Bavarian meats and pretzels, and listening to some German music. Schönes Wochenende!

Students recently prepared and delivered 5–6 minute speeches on individuals who inspire them. Already, they’re showing growth from their very first speeches! Next up: researching and preparing 7–8 minute informational speeches. 🎤👏

Our Child Care students had the best time with the little ones at September’s Tiny Twisters! 🍂🎨 They enjoyed lots of playtime and a fun fall-themed craft to get into the autumn spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone again in October!

⛳️ IHSA 1A Regional Results – Byron Hills Golf Course (Port Byron, IL) ⚡️ The Storm competed hard at Byron Hills, finishing 5th overall as a team in a strong field. Wyatt Novotny led the way with an outstanding round of 71, earning 3rd place overall and punching his ticket to next week’s IHSA Sectional Match! 🔥 We are extremely proud of the entire team and how they represented Bureau Valley this season. Since the second day of school, science students have been conducting a spider plant propagation study. Each Friday, they log quantitative and qualitative data, observing how consistent care impacts growth. What started as tiny plantlets has become thriving specimens. 🌱📈

Bureau Valley Interact Club is sponsoring a Book Drive to get a new Lending Library established in Wyanet. See the flyer for more details.

4 students attended Youth Advisory Council Meeting today hosted by Sen. Li Arellano Jr. at Sauk Valley Community College. Other area high school students attended today's event where they heard presentations on leadership from a school superintendent, county director for IL Extension, and a local businessman. The students also worked together with other schools to design a bill. One group's bill presentation was voted on by the whole attending body as the bill that will be deconstructed at the next YAC Meeting next spring in Springfield.
