You’ve probably heard of Four Weddings and a Funeral, but have you ever seen them all in one class period? Our Honors Communication students recently took part in a speed round of celebratory speeches, experiencing a full range of emotions while practicing form and delivery. By the end of the day, we had it all: an introduction, several acceptances, a wedding, three toasts, two funerals, a jeremiad, and even a keynote address. Talk about range!

Tonight, we host a quad meet at our BV North Walnut Campus! Girls run at 4:30, Boys at 5:15. A perfect tune-up before Saturday’s Dale Donner Invite! Let’s go STORM!

Officer Larkin and her K9 partner, Lucy, recently visited Mrs. Wilt’s Business and Personal Law class at BVHS. Together, they make up a certified Mantrailing Team. Lucy is specially trained to follow the unique scent of a person, while Officer Larkin is skilled in interpreting Lucy’s cues during a search. Students had the opportunity to watch an engaging demonstration of their teamwork in action. Experiences like this highlight the many connections between Business and Personal Law and real-world fields such as Criminal Justice—one of several career paths that inspire students to take the course.

Horticulture has been learning about flower anatomy lately. Recently they studied how plants carry water and nutrients up the stem through translocation. They did an experiment dying flowers with colored water and were able to dissect a sunflower to see the parts of the stem!

Ag Construction has been learning about surveying land. Last week the students got to put their skills to the test by doing a profile leveling survey on the school grounds!
