Bureau Valley was proud to send six outstanding student-athletes to today’s IHSA Leadership Conference in Peoria! Nominated by their coaches, these students joined more than 600 leaders from across Illinois to connect, learn, and grow.

Throughout the day, they explored topics like communication, sportsmanship, personal growth mindset, and heard from two incredible keynote speakers who inspired them to lead with purpose.

Proud of our Storm leaders and excited to see the impact they bring back to BV!

Computer Applications students spend the semester exploring a variety of Google Apps. In Google Sheets, they’re introduced to the basics of coding through conditional formatting—a tool that allows them to assign colors to numbers and create unique pixel-style images. After mastering Google’s suite of applications, students will transition to learning how to navigate and use Microsoft Office programs effectively

Consumer Education students just wrapped up their tax unit. To apply what they learned, students used mock personal information to practice completing the W-4, W-2, and 1040 tax forms.

The Child Care students can't wait to see your little turkeys on Friday!

Interact Club's Little Library is up! Stop by the Gathering Place in Wyanet and grab a book. With a very successful book drive from the community and BV340 District we have plenty to fill it with, so get reading!

Objects in motion stay in motion... and so do BVHS Physics students. This week, they presented their own very interesting takes on Newton's Laws, complete with action, laughter, and flying objects!

Modern American History students had the opportunity to listen to guest speaker Pete Micale this morning! Mr. Micale spent 30 years in the United States Air Force including time underground in nuclear missile silos!

Mrs. Sisk's science classes have been in full swing! Forensics has been learning about forgeries and how different pens can be detected using chromatography. Zoology has been working on informational posters about different classes of sea stars. Earth science and Physical science took the opportunity to discuss the recent northern lights display as a part of their atmosphere unit and waves unit respectively.

The High School Band, Choir, and Guitar Class gave a heartfelt performance at the Veterans Day concert. Their focus, musicianship, and respect for our veterans made this performance truly special. We are so proud of their hard work and the way they represented our school community.🎶🎸🥁

BVHS National Honor Society teamed up with the Volleyball Team to host a Pink Night game against Kewanee Wethersfield, honoring breast cancer fighters, survivors, and those we’ve lost. Together, we raised $2,209 to support The Believe Foundation! 🌸 Alayna from the foundation joined us to accept the donation, which will help provide beauty and travel supports for local women undergoing treatment.

Spanish classes celebrated Day of the Dead at the beginning of November. Spanish 1 decorated Day of the Dead pictures, Spanish 2 and 3 made skeletons and Spanish 4 decorated and put up papeles picados to celebrate Day of the Dead.
