🧀🔬 Exploring Food Science: From Homemade Cheez-Its to Label Claims! 🌾📊 Students delve into the world of food production, crafting their own cheesy delights and analyzing potential claims like 'high fiber,' 'low sodium,' 'gluten-free,' and more. 🍽️🔍

Final Reminder. BVHS Interact Club and Civics Students will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 24th. 1:00 for ages 2-5 and 2:00 for ages 6-10. Hope to see everyone there. Lots of candy. The Parlor Coffee will be on-site...and so will the Easter Bunny!


🌾🔬🍞 Students in Intro to Ag Science delved into experimentation! They selected leavening agents (Baking Soda, Baking Powder, Active Dry Yeast, and Instant Rise Yeast) and crafted research questions. Then, they designed and conducted experiments, recording detailed observations. Finally, they presented findings, reflecting on their hands-on learning journey. Let's bake up some knowledge together! 👩🔬📊

🌟 Putting Knowledge to Practice! 🍞 In the next lesson, Intro to Ag students transformed their understanding of leavening agents into delicious creations. Using yeast, they crafted flavorful garlic knots, blending theory with hands-on experience.👩🍳🧄

🔬🐄 Exploring Livestock Artificial Insemination in Pre-Vet! 💉👩🔬 William Anderson demonstrated AI with a gilt, while Ella shared insights into semen under the microscope. Mrs. Shimmin's mom, Cindy Cagwin-Johnston, enlightened us on bovine AI and the students got to try their hand at it. Huge thanks to Kewanee Ag Department for lending us their Bovine Breeder Simulator! 🔬🐄

Congrats to all of our Badminton Tournament Champions!! All winners received a free slice of pizza sponsored by Buda Casey's that they can enjoy over Spring Break. This is a fan favorite unit and with the competitive nature, good sportsmanship and smiles in the gym, we can't wait begin our singles tournament when we return from break.


Life skills students experimented with dying eggs without traditional egg dying kit, to see which method would work better. Rice, whip cream or coffee filter.

Third quarter BV Rewards winners are in! Thanks to all students who took part this quarter by chasing down goals that showcase unity, excellence, and pride. Congrats to our eight victors who received a variety of gift cards in recognition of their efforts!



Everyone knows that a black object warms up faster in the Sun than a lightly-colored object does. But what about how fast they cool down? Physical Science students are performing experiments on thermal emission to find out!
