Dear Parents and Guardians, Due to the forecasted frigid temperatures and related concerns about safe transportation, we have decided to implement a 1-hour delayed start for school tomorrow. Important Details: School Start Time: Classes will begin exactly 1 hour later than the usual start time. Busing: School buses will run on a 1-hour delayed schedule. Morning Programs: All morning programs scheduled before the regular school start time are canceled for tomorrow. Breakfast will NOT be served. PreK - Morning class 9:00 AM-10:30 AM | Afternoon class 12:10 PM – 2:40 PM Safety Precautions: We urge students to dress warmly in layers and minimize exposure to the cold while waiting for buses or walking to school. School End Time: The school day will end at the regular time. We understand that this change may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority, and this decision has been made with their best interests in mind. Please stay tuned for local weather updates and check our school website or social media channels for further changes. We are excited to announce that SILO the film will be coming to Bureau Valley! SILO is the first-ever featured film about grain entrapment. Inspired by true events, SILO follows a harrowing day in an American farm town. Disaster strikes when teenager Cody Rose is entrapped in a 50-foot-tall grain bin. When the corn turns to quicksand, family, neighbors and first responders must put aside their differences to rescue Cody from drowning in the crop that has sustained their community for generations. The movie will take place on Tuesday, January 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Bureau Valley High School Auditorium. Sponsors for the event are Bureau Valley FFA, Bureau County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, Nutrien Ag Solutions, and the Illinois State Fire Institute. Reservations are required by calling the Bureau County Farm Bureau at (815) 875-6468 or through the Facebook Event. After the movie, a farm safety demonstration by Illinois Fire Service institute is planned at Nutrien’s Manlius location on Route 40 just south of BV High School. Reservations are required for the training for an accurate meal count. This program is also brought to you in part by an Illinois Farm Bureau Farm Safety Grant. https://www.facebook.com/events/627939326063905?ref=newsfeed
