Natural Resources has recently been learning about wild turkeys, their behavior, habitats, and reintroduction to Illinois. The students also got to make their own turkey box calls!

On October 10th the Bureau Valley Volleyball team and the National Honor Society partnered up to host a PINK NIGHT volleyball event against Sterling Newman. Raffle baskets, memorial ribbon wall, pumpkin painting, and t-shirt sales that continued through the end of October helped contribute $1,897.00 to Mary Vankeulen who started The Believe Foundation to help provide individuals with wigs, make up, gas cards, transportation and so much more to give individuals battling cancer the strength to believe. The AgriScience investigators in Mrs. Shimmin's Intro to Ag class explored the microscopic world by making wet mounts of onion slices! Using compound microscopes, they observed the cell wall and nucleus up close. 🧅🔬

Great turnout for tonight's Financial Aid and Scholarship Night. Thank you to Sauk Valley Community College's Financial Aid Department and Bureau Valley FFA for partnering with the Counseling Department for this event.
The National Honor Society students enjoyed assembling sub sandwich and bread orders today after school! A huge THANK YOU to those who ordered sandwiches and subs from our organization's annual fundraiser. This fundraiser helps us to award one of our graduating members with a $500 scholarship at graduation and helps fund the end of the year field trip to reward our seniors for the service they've dedicated to their school and community the past year since being inducted.
