
Mrs. Shimmin's Pre-Veterinary Studies class is learning about biosecurity!! Students simulated disinfectant procedures on dirty work boots, a door handle, and a saliva sample! They swabbed at each phase of disinfecting: before, during, and after, and then added the swabs to Petri dishes to track bacteria growth!

Curious what an SAE is?! SAEs provide a method in agricultural education for students to receive real-world career experiences in an area of agriculture that they are most interested in. Supervised Agricultural Experiences are an important component of agricultural education and are a required element of all Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources!

Special BVHS Boys Golf Announcement:
Congrats to the BV Boys Golf Team for advancing to Monday's (Oct. 2nd) IHSA Sherrard Sectional. BV finished 3rd today at the Riverdale Regional @ Byron Hills and will advance. BV will play at Fyre Lake Golf Course. Tee Times T.B.D.

Senior history students toured the Holocaust Museum in Skokie today. Great opportunity to both see and hear history as we got to hear the story of a 94 year old survivor.






Chemistry students are calculating the density values for different metals; the volume of each metal sample is determined by water displacement. Once the density is known, it can be used to identify the metal.

Clothing and Textile students learning how to sew on buttons. They all did great!!



The F/S boys cross-country team took first at the 17-team Boiler Invitational with a team score of 30 points, narrowly beating out ROWVA (31 points). Adrian Gallardo (4th) was the top finisher for the Storm with a time of 19:38.96 on the hilly 3.0-mile course at Baker Park.

Elijah Endress rushed for 249 yards and 5 touchdowns on the way to a 35-14 victory over Mendota. Brock Shane was 5 for 5 on extra point kicks. Cameron Lemons rushed for 102 yards; Brady Hartz added 63 rushing yards. (Photo credit Scott Anderson)
