Chemistry students are learning to distinguish between chemical changes (which change the identity of a substance) and physical changes (which do not). Here, magnesium metal reacts with oxygen, producing an intense white light, and hydrogen gas burns in the air.
Bureau County hosted State Representative Mary Beth Canty this week as part of the Illinois Farm Bureau Adopted Legislator Program! Part of the visit included touring the Bureau Valley Ag Department and FFA Program!

Food Science students are continuing to learn about food contaminants like mold! Today, students baked and enjoyed homemade bread! We saved a piece from each group's loaf that we will watch mold over the next couple of weeks! Which do you think will mold more quickly storebought or homemade bread?
The 7th period American History I students recently completed slideshows on various Native American tribes of Illinois...including the Kickapoo, the Ho-Chunk, and others.
Strength and Conditioning students are completing their acclimation week with focus on performing each exercise with correct form. They are motivated and working hard! Looking forward to seeing it pay off as fall sports are in FULL SWING!
