We are excited to see all the hats tomorrow!

This is a reminder that BV Walnut's picture day is tomorrow, Friday, September 6th. Make sure to bring your best smiles!

🚗💛 Fuel up at Shell in Walnut this month and support our school! When you use the marked Giving Pump, a portion of the proceeds will come back to our school. Let’s come together to make a difference for our students!
3rd grade had a great time with our first Ag in the Classroom lesson! They learned and had a fun activity all about bees!
Ms. Davis's class has kicked off the year with many exciting activities!! Caterpillars, garden visits, Tiny Target shopping, making cotton candy in science and a visit from Wrigley!

"4th grade science is all about energy this year! 🌟 Our students kicked things off by making 'Wanted' posters for energy wasters. 🕵️♂️ They'll spend the year learning how to solve the energy problems they discover. Excited to see them become energy-saving superheroes! 💡

Mrs. Cady thought it was an intense game of Gaga ball. Turns out a rabbit made a nest in the pit. Students carefully caught the big bunnies with buckets and released them outside the pit.

Please be sure to RSVP by Monday, August 19th if you are able to join us.

BIG Celebration today! We had 100% student attendance. We celebrated with some extra recess and started making lists of silly things Mrs Cady should do next time we earn this celebration.

If the orange cone is out 6-12 students can come inside that door to wait for the bus.

Bureau Valley Schools will begin the 2024-25 school year tomorrow! We are looking forward to seeing everyone and hearing all about your summers.
School will be in session from 8:00-2:00 through August 16. On August 19 we will resume our regular schedule of 8:00-3:00.

Morning procedures for the Walnut students in grades K-12.
Please try your best to not bring children to school until 7:15 am. If that is beyond your control, students will have to wait outdoors at the front door and be unsupervised.
ALL CAR DROP OFFS need to use the south parking lot. Jr. High and High school students will walk along the outside of the building and wait in the fire lane until it is time to load the bus. They will stay outdoors unless it is raining or the “feel like” temperature is below 20 degrees.
Students in grades K-5th will report to the gym and sit in their assigned spot. Breakfast is served at 7:30. It is recommended to drop your child off at 7:40 if they eat breakfast and 7:45 if they do not eat breakfast.

We had some cadets come in and successfully complete boot camp. This crew is Kindergarten ready.

Thanks to this crew our building is looking fantastic! They also spread some fresh new rock on the playground.
