PART 2: BV Walnut and Lincoln Princeton 3rd graders met one another today, after writing each other throughout the school year. A morning of fun activities and conversation between pen pals! The students from both schools were amazing throughout this project!
3rd grade had a great time on their field trip to Putnam Museum!! They watched a 3D movie about wildlife in Africa, saw and learned about artifacts from local history and from all over the world, and got to enjoy the many hands-on science experiences! Everyone had a blast!!

Today is our final day of the school year for our students. We have had a wonderful year and we hope that everyone has a safe and fun summer. School will dismiss today at 2:00.

Congratulations to Stevie Davis and Kinley Gruber for earning the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence! This award recognizes students that show outstanding growth, achievement, and commitment to excellence. In order to be eligible , students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. In addition students must rank in the 90th percentile on benchmark assessments in reading OR mathematics. Students must have no suspensions – in or out of school and must meet attendance requirements.

In SEL, students created pages with their memories that they had throughout the year. Together, they compiled these into a heartfelt book as a token of gratitude for their teachers as a gift during Teacher Appreciation Week!

Big thanks to BV Foundation for bringing Absolute Science to our school! Our K-5 students had a blast observing the scientist demonstrate the Van de Graaff generator and dive into the physics of the Hoot Tube. Such a fun and educational experience! 🔬⚡
Ms Shipp and her 1st grade class have been patiently waiting weeks for our praying mantis egg sac to hatch, and it finally did! The students enjoyed holding the babies and we then released them into nature🌳
BV Walnut 4th grade had the best time in Chicago seeing all of the incredible works of art they have been learning about this year! One of the best parts of the day was seeing how many people would linger near our group to hear Mrs. Berry's in depth explanation of the artists and their work. Thank you, Mrs. Berry for planning this wonderful trip!
Throughout the year, our second-graders got pen pals from Wyanet. They have enjoyed exchanging letters throughout the year. Today, they were lucky enough to meet and enjoy the weather!
4th grade enjoyed Earth Day activities, a special visit with some of their classmate's pigs, and Friday's FFA petting zoo!
Mrs. Henegar's April student of the month was Camden! Camden has an incredible thirst for knowledge and he loves to share with the class. He is a kind and welcoming friend to all. Way to go, Camden!
