Congratulations Weston!

Thank you to the WFD for spending the day with us! We appreciate the reminder to check our smoke detectors and talk with families about having a plan in the event of an emergency. We were able to present them with a check from money raised through our 9/11 rememberance as well.

3rd grade enjoyed Ag in the Class, they learned how agriculture is connected to football! They learned how to grow turf for the fields and made their own turf football player to grow!

Mrs. Kluever's 4th grade students enjoyed their Place Value Pumpkins math activity. We also wanted to say, "Go, Storm!".

We wanted to remind you that BV schools will dismiss at 11:00 tomorrow for our SIP day. There will be no lunch served.
The book fair will be open 11-12 . It will also be open from 4-7 during the parent teacher conferences.
You can still call the office to schedule a conference.

Last week kindergarten learned all about apples. On Friday the kids peeled apples to make homemade applesauce. What a tasty treat! 🍎

Our garden club was busy preparing chili today for the Fall Fest Chili Cookoff on Friday night. We added tomatoes, peppers and eggplant from our garden so we're sure it will be delicious. ☺️. Hope you're able to come out and try some!

During SEL for Homecoming Week, we've been hearing "Be your best version" around the school, and today we dove into what that really means!

Mrs. Henegar's student of the month for the month of October is Audra! Audra was selected because she is responsible, willing to work with and help anyone, and brings such a positive energy to our classroom. Way to go, Audra!

Congratulations to Mrs. Henegar's first Student of the Month, Dottie! Dottie is hard working, thoughtful, and reliable. You can always count on Dottie to do the right thing and march to the beat of her own drum. Way to go, Dottie!

Mondays aren't ruff with Wrigley at school!

SouthLand Dairy Farmers brought Louise the Jersey cow to school today. We learned she is the second most popular dairy breed in the US and can produce 6-8 gallons of milk a day. Her milk is 100 degrees and the farmer cools it to 38 degrees until the truck comes to pick it up. It is then pastorized and on a shelf for us to buy in 3 days or less. Louise will eat about 60 pounds of feed a day and drink 35 gallons of water. She can hear up to 1/4 mile away and loves it when the weather is anywhere from 40 - 70 degrees.

Congratulations to Reese Rosenthal of Mrs. Kluever's class for earning the title as September's Student of the Month! Reese is kind and helpful. She is adapting well to 4th grade.
