
Biology took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and practiced their knowledge of the DNA structure with chalk! Knowing the structure will enable them to better understand how changes to that structure impact all of us.





This semester has been full of explosive movements in the weight room for our Strength & Conditioning classes! Here we have two hardworking students completing weighted dumbbell jumps.

Earth Science students had the pleasure of having a guest speaker share her extensive knowledge of fossils found in Illinois. Students were able to explore and investigate a small portion of her collection. Thank you so much for sharing, Mrs. Wasilewski!




Chemistry students are working on an introductory Lewis Structures activity. The different colored bingo chips represent the electrons that each atom contributes to the molecule and help to determine the correct structure.




The varsity Scholastic Bowl team went 1-1 last night at Princeton with a win over Rockridge (290-130) and a loss in overtime to Sherrard (210-200). The J-V team won two exhibition matches against Princeton (220-90 and 200-60).

Students also participated in mini-courses that consisted of Minute to Win It, Water Bottle Bird Feeders, Glitter Mason Jars, Tie Dying, and Diamond Art Kits. Students were encouraged to wear their Mental Health Matters shirts to be entered into a raffle to be drawn this week!⚡️











Last Thursday we had another wonderful SIP Day with an Early Dismissal for students, before a long weekend. We would like to thank the Army National Guard and Comedy Sportz for attending and helping to exemplify that Bureau Valley and Mental Health Matters.⚡️

Mrs. Clark teaches her driver's education students to always be prepared. It was a good thing she ALWAYS keeps jumper cables in her car so that if she needs her car. After a quick jump from a friendly bystander, it was to the nearest auto parts store to test the battery.

BVHS Interact Club and Civics Classes will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt at the front lawn of Bureau Valley High School on Sunday, March 24th. All children aged 2-10 are welcome. Ages 2-5 will begin at 1:00pm and ages 6-10 will begin at 2:00pm.
