BVHS students competed in our schoolwide Poetry Out Loud competition this week. Students and community members alike enjoyed live poetry performances, trivia, coffee and sweet treats at Parlor Coffee in Sheffield. Congrats to Titus Cook (1st) and Alexis Butler (2nd).
High school band members started learning their secondary instruments today. Every Friday students will have the opportunity to learn from each other how to play a new instrument. #gostorm #bvmusic
Ms. Barnett's General Physical Education Class finished up the Tchoukball unit by participating in a Round Robin tournament ending two students who received awards. Aubrie taking home the Sportsmanship Award and Damian taking home the MVP! Congrats to all!

Adapted PE is back at it with one of our favorite units! 🎳
Physical Science students design and build a paper roller coaster utilizing Newton's laws of motion. They are able to also make calculations about speed and acceleration.
We can't wait for our Storm Sweeties performance tomorrow night (2/2)! Please see information attached! :)
Congratulations to seniors Blake Helms and Connor Scott on being the 2024 John Ourth winners from Bureau Valley High School. They will be recognized with a plaque by the Starved Rock region of the Illinois Principals Association on Thursday, February 29th.

Physical Science students work to prove the Law of Conservation of Energy. The potential energy at the top of the hill must equal the kinetic energy at the bottom of the hill. The effect of changing the mass and height is also investigated.
The varsity Scholastic Bowl team went 1 and 1 last night with a win over Morrison (200-140) and a loss to Riverdale (270-120). Their record stands at 4-3 for the season.
